Halloween Hair Scares: Wigs and Dyes…Oh My

Halloween Hair Scares: Wigs and Dyes…Oh My

Just this week, fashion icon and Euphoria star Maude Apatow made the blog o’sphere news while attending the Valentino Womenswear spring/summer 2024 show at Paris Fashion Week. Although a well-known celebrity in her own right, Apatow was competing with models, influencers, and actors who had flown in to be part of the see-and-be scene. What had all eyes on the 25-year-old though, was how she had dyed, her hair a near-perfect pumpkin/ginger color.
Celebrating October’s famous holiday, maybe?
Although this is only the beginning of the month, we extend the same happy and healthy All Hallows’ to all of our clients and their families, as we do every year. But again, we caution our hair wearers (and everybody else) about the dyes and even the wigs people can come to wear in creating their costumes. Surely, most of the costume add-ons you will find at your local costume shop or you can buy online will be safe to use, wash out quickly, and are as easily detached as attached. But every year, we hear horror stories of people going too far to achieve life-like looks and way-out styles. And while, in many cases, hair will grow back or grow out, the people who come to Guci Image regularly do not have this option…as we all well know.
Even if it is the most water-soluble dye, we can’t recommend washing it through your lace wig for a night out on Oct. 31st. Already wearing a male CTR unit or even some extensions, it might not be the best idea to attach further costume-grade hair to our high-grade systems. Sure, go out with your kids or attend all the parties you want (you already know the price you will pay for rabid candy consumption), but please watch what you do to that which we so precisely care for and want looking its’ best on you, for Halloween and beyond.
Happy Halloween, all.
