Elly Mayday is a working and popular plus-sized model. Since battling ovarian cancer though the “curvy Canadian”, as she calls herself, has also lost 40 pounds and models with her bald head, scars and all.

A hysterectomy and chemo did not stop this daughter of a Saskatchewan farmer in bringing her serous carcinoma to public attention. On the cusp of signing with two agencies in 2013-one on each U.S. coast-Elly was diagnosed with the rare cancer that usually only effects post-menopausal women. But for the past year Elly has been the lead model for the Vancouver (Langley, B.C, to be exact) Canadian Forever Yours Lingerie company. Forever Yours sells ”lingerie for the modern women,” those woman coming in at any and all sizes; Elly herself measures 34-29-44.

In her first shoot post treatment, Elly dyed her hair teal green for ovarian cancer awareness and following this, with the full encouragement of Sonya Perkins, the owner of Forever Yours Lingerie and the many women who learned of Elly’s story began showing her numerous surgical scars and also her bald head in her layouts.
