Pride Month & Hair Rainbows

Pride Month & Hair Rainbows

There is a multitude of reasons why anyone of us changes, maintains, or even maybe rejects hair color. As we have mentioned here plenty, with the work we do at Guci Image, we try and answer our client’s hair color changes and desires. But beyond a technician applying color to cover some grey every few months, or maybe some slight experimenting, it goes without saying that anything of even a semi-permanence done to a hair replacement unit or extensions need to be well considered.
Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj, as well as some other celebrities, were considering Pride Month when they showed off their rainbow-colored hair across Instagram this week.
Since the infamous Stonewall Riots of the blistering beginning of the summer of 1969, people have been celebrating gay rights across the globe in June. Parades, festivals, concerts, community get-togethers, ‘Pride’ celebrations run the full gambit for the LGBTQ community. A bright and colorful rainbow is now recognized as the full-color scheme display of this movement, proudly worn across T-shirts, headbands, bags, and as seen on Instagram this week, on the heads of some of our most popular celebrities.
But again, a breezy cut or trying a new bright wild color that lasts only a week is easily executed for people sporting their real, natural hair. For hair replacement costumers, choices made on whims or even to support a cause, as heartfelt as they might be, are not so easy. But there are lots of challenges a hair replacement customer faces in his or her every day that others simply do not.
Here at Guci Image, we celebrate gay pride month, championing people everywhere to wear as much color in their hair, or anywhere else they want. As the summer ‘opens’ in more ways than one around our north NJ way, we hope for rainbows and clear skies ahead.
