Lil Nas X Makes Us Notice Wig Style

Lil Nas X Makes Us Notice Wig Style

There is little in modern hair culture that we here at Guci Image do not try and explore. It behooves us to keep up on current hair trends—new cuts, colors, and styles—as much as we need to on the latest scientific breakthroughs in hair restoration and hair replacement technology. And we also dig deep into what the current culture gives us via vlogs, celebrity sightings, TikTok, and of course, music video.

If for nothing else, to enjoy all that artists and stylists are creating.

If you have yet to catch Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” music video, you owe it to yourself to enjoy this concoction (see it here). As much for the song (which is very pointed in its lyric) as the fantastic imagery…and yes, some wonderfully, over-the-top wig styling. It’s one thing to fashion and fit the Lace Wigs we do, another to appreciate the time and craftsmanship that goes into what is seen across this music video’s quick cuts.

Decidedly, what we do with wigs at our Paramus hair replacement salon is not on the same order as what Lil Nas X’s stylist manages in the Montero clip. But the craftsmanship that goes into wig creation and styling, for us and in a music video clip, is painstakingly precise, and the results need to be appreciated.

Guci Image consistently walks the fine line between giving our hair wear clients what they want and what is possible of what they might see and be influenced by. But for these more fanciful videos of late, stuff like Card B’s “WAP,” DoJo Cat’s “Streets,” and in this new clip from Lil Nas X, there is a great division between the fantasy and the real, styles that could only ever work in a video as opposed to that which we are possible and practical for the real-life hair wear customer.

But boy, is there so much hair fun to enjoy in “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”
