Call it a slow news week, social media narcissism, or just our culture’s constant fascination for seeing behind-the-scenes scenes of celebrities. Still, this week, both Ariana Grande and Kylie Jenner blew up social media. The ladies did not manage anything unusually controversial, at least in the grand scheme of things. But both young women happened to reveal videos across their respective Instagram pages showcasing their natural hair length.
In Grande’s video, she ran her fingers through her thick curls. The “thank u, next” diva is known for her slick ponytail, so the long curly tresses came as quite a shock to her legion of fans. Last November, one might recall Grande stealing cyber headlines when she showed off a shorter hairstyle.
Kylie Jenner released a post-shower video where she too played with her long hair. “Haven’t had my real hair this long since I was 15,” she wrote over the clip. The last time Jenner made a point of showing off her real length (she is known to sport extensions and wigs quite often) was two years ago. That time she sported a bun in a Shapchat post, with hair that was quite shorter than it is now.
Revealing one’s ‘natural hair,’ in any way we might like to define that term, is something a Guci Image customer is looking never to do. Our northern New Jersey hair replacement salon customers know precisely the kind of ‘hiding in plain sight’ we adhere to at Guci Image. But a little fibbing to the world is what’s needed as our hair wearer’s and technicians enter into an intimate relationship many of us don’t even have with friends or family.
Let the Ariana’s and Kylie’s of the world show-off all they want, fake or real. A Guci Image customer knows precisely what they can and cannot reveal to the world.
